Funky Foto Flashback: BMX Superstah

May 28, 2009 12:05 am

It’s time for another Funky Foto Flashback hosted by Bex over at Adventures of the Grigg Boys.

These are pictures from my BMX days. That dorky trophy wielding blonde is me circa 1985. I was probably around fourteen or fifteen in the second shot. How about you guys, what sports did you play?

None, well tennis but I hate competitive sports. I liked dance till I become wickedly uncoordinated.

You are so AWESOME. (And that word probably came of age when those photos were taken…)

If that was an old, hand-me-down blue bike with a banana seat and dainty streamers on the handle bars, then it would represent the kind of sports I engaged in.

In the first picture, is that a boy or a girl next to you?

I use to in-line skate a lot. But that is about it.

Look at you all decked out in your BMX gear! How cute are you??! As for me, I played soccer…which didn’t help my thunder thighs mode as I got older… 😉

I didn’t play a damn thing – my mom was too cheap. I always wanted a trophy that weighed more than me. All I got was a poor exercise ethic.

I already knew you were hot but that just pushed you into ultra hotness. My only sport as a teen was smot poking.

    Awesome!
I was a total tomboy growing up and would have LOVED to do BMX! Only they didn’t have it for girls where I grew up. I played soccer instead.

Check you out! That’s awesome. I thought you were making all that BMX stuff up to impress the blogosphere. 😉 That second picture is great. The most dangerous biking I did was getting knocked over by a German Shephard on our block once. Lame.

Are you serious?!.. BMX racing?? You are such a tomboy stud! But the trophy made it all worth it. I’m betting that is NOT up on your mantle at home? (Unless it replaced the thumbs-up statuette.)

The only sports I participated in were clumsiness and sprains. And I was GOOD.

Damn – huge trophy! You go girl! I’m very impressed. I was a tennis player and a swimmer myself – always smelled like clorine.

I’m going to start doing this foto thing when we FINALLY get high speed at home and I can scan in my ancient pics!

A BMX biker? I’m suitably impressed.
I played softball but all I have to show for it are a few pictures of me picking dandelions and doing cartwheels in the outfield. Obviously I wasn’t very good.

No freaking WAY!! That trophy is almost taller than you. Wow!! And what a cool sport you were in. When I was young, the only real sport for girls was softball–NOT for me. I played a lot of sports with the neighborhood guys, but not much until I swam in high school. Gees, you were a cool kid.
