Welcome to another edition of Keely’s Random Tuesday Thoughts. Her randomness is spreading through the blogosphere at the speed of light (or that person’s connection speed).

I hate trees. There, I said it, I’m an anti-tree hugger. I really only hate one tree in particular. We had family in town this weekend and spent Friday preparing for their visit. We even outsourced our yard work and hired someone to clean the gutters and rake up the leaves (note: in FL, the trees drop their leaves in the early spring). Twelve bags of leaves later, the yard looked great. The next morning, we woke up to the entire thing being covered again. Jamie’s truck hasn’t been driven since last week and it’s sitting under the Oak tree with about 6″ of leaves on the windshield. Therefore, I hate trees.

Although entertaining isn’t his favorite thing to do, Jamie likes it when we have company because I run around like a nut case cleaning and organizing to make the house look nice. I even cleaned the pool and hung two infant swings on the new swing set. Talk about motivated. Don’t worry though, I’m back to sitting on my ass again today.

My mind is fried lately. I’m not sure if it’s allergies or the heat or what but *yawn*, I’m having trouble even staying awake in the day and blogging is low on the list of things I have energy for.

Why the hell do TV shows play their intro music so damn loud? Last night while watching The Celebrity Apprentice, we had to turn it way down every damn time the show came back from commercial so we didn’t wake the kids up. I get it, it’s dramatic. Now turn that shit down.

I’ve made several comments on northern blogs (that sounds like a TV series, Northern Blogs, on Tuesdays at 8PM EST) about how hot it is here already. I’m sorry if it seemed like I was rubbing it in your faces, but I really meant it when I said the heat is miserable. We spent the weekend alternating from the swing set to the pool (oh sorry, rubbing it in again?) and poor Graham has heat rash on his neck and back from the heat. I even lobbed off all of the curls on the back of his neck but after fifteen minutes outside, the rash is back.

After reading Jen’s guest post yesterday, I spent the day craving mac-n-cheese. I finally broke down and made some while Jamie was putting Graham to bed. Then I promptly scarfed the entire batch and emailed Jen to place the blame on her. It’s nice being able to blame someone else for once.

Speaking of blame, I tried to take Elliot with me to go work out today but 16 minutes into my workout, the daycare lady came and got me. Elliot was acting like a big fat baby and crying for her mom. What a baby.

I used to wonder who marketers thought they were fooling because the average American was too smart to want something just because they saw it advertised. I guess I’m the idiot it works on since I based my dinner choice solely on someone’s mere mention of macaroni and cheese.

Remember the Letter Factory video I blogged about last week? I have that fucking song in my head. It’s in my head when I wake up, when I shower, when I drive, when I try to sleep. ALL DAY LONG. If you hear about the girl who purposely drove into a telephone pole to get a song out of her head, it was me. BTW, telephone pole starts with the letter “t”. The “t” says “tuh”, the “T” says “tuh”, every letter makes a sound, the “t” says “tuh”. Crash.

Click here to see more randomness. Tell Keely I said hello and that she looks nice today.

Last week I would’ve jumped through the computer screen and punched your lights out for complaining about the heat (no, not really) but today, ah today we are going to have a most perfect sunny and 70 degree day! I can’t wait.

ps – please don’t drive into a telephone pole, I would miss you!

    I love RTTs.

I also really wanted mac and cheese. Luckily there was none in the house and I was too lazy to go to the home. However, there were some chocolate cookies.

(BTW – where’s the fries and the poo?)

The only time I have ever been in Florida was in August, and it was miserably hot. I was helping a friend babysit her niece and nephew for a week. They had a pool too, and you definitely need a pool to survive down there!

I just snorted… And spilled my coffee… all because of the “T” says “tuh”.

I would hate Florida. I like snow way too much.

The daycare lady at my gym always comes in to tell me that Nathan has pooped his pants…halfway through my workout! And then try leaving your kid when he has already seen you and ran to put his coat on when all you were there to do was change his diaper. Sigh…

It is going to be in the 90s here by Thursday but it’s a dry heat. HaHaHa. When it is 117 it doesn’t matter if it is dry or wet. It is just too damn hot.

Glad to hear you got the baby swings up. How does Elliot like it?

I didn’t think you were rubbing it in, I know what miserable heat is like too. It gets that way during the summer here.

Uh, no, I *don’t* know why we live here, actually.

Jen had me craving Mac’n’Cheese yesterday, too…but I didn’t give in to the craving…(snicker!) We have an annoying tree, too, but it’s not a nice one, we call it the ‘junk’ tree. It likes to drop pollen in the Spring and miscellaneous stuff in the summer, and lots of leaves in the fall…not to mention the bird poop from the myriad of birds hanging out in it. Of course it’s right over where we park, so I tend to park closer to the barn so I won’t get as much junk on it – so hubby’s car is the usual target. But the wind blows and it never escapes completely. πŸ™‚

oh, great. Now I gotta go get the stuff to make Mac and cheese. Yes I don’t have any here already. My kids are grown and I mac and cheesed them to death when they were young so it’s not a staple food around here now.

and if it’s a poll about Florida..

    I’m against it.

I grew up in Pensacola, so I believe you about the heat. And the oak leaves. Are they those really little crispy ones? I kind of like those.

Also, I serve mac and cheese to my kids with alarming frequency.

When we lived at our townhouse we had a huge tree that branched over our driveway, nasty rotten leaves were forever piling up on our windshields and getting in the air vents. It drove me nuts. Now the trees annoy me only because baby birds fall out of them that we’ve got to either routinely rescue, or…dispose of.

    Mmmmm. Mac n’ Cheese.

It looks like it’s literally raining leaves. And pool?? Good thing it’s St. Patrick’s Day because I’m green with envy!!!

The “h” says “huh”,the “h” says “huh” every letter makes a sound, the “h” says “huh”. Boy do I remember that video! Kellen practically learned his dang letters from watching it – yes, I am confessing to giving credit to a video for teaching my son his letters – what can ya do?

So it’s really hot where you are? Seriously? It’s like freaking freezing here in Oregon. Wet, cold, and miserable – but Spring is just around the corner – that’s what I keep telling myself anyway!

As to the leaves…. Totally. Also, the yellow pollen pisses me off each year. One thing I can say, there are a lot less oak trees here compared to Tallahassee. Just multiply the yellow pollen times 3! We used to rince off the car, windows and driveway daily just to keep it a bay, sort of.
